Ideas for my Thesis

  • Churches. Most of the men in my family are pastors and I have access to a wide variety of churches. I want to make a comparison and study of these traditional and contemporary places of worship.
  • First person stop animation video. Driving/walking from scene to scene.
  • -Focus on water
  • Natural windows.
  • Pareidolia.
  • Poetics of the mundane. Finding beauty in the banal.
  • Project (with a digital projector) my favorite piece of art created by local artists at Texas State onto the artists. I want to pick the work as a way of expressing how I see that particular artist in regards to their style.
  • Project outside scenes inside/inside scenes outside
  • Project on different surfaces - water, smoke, bubbles, grass, sand, etc. I would probably switch up the textures with what I'm projecting on, for example project a picture of grass in water, bubbles in smoke, and such.
  • Texas on the road. I don't know if I would have time to go on a roadtrip across this giant state but I'd love to try.
  • Eggs. I was once told that eggs are the most difficult thing to photograph.
  • Murals.
  • Portraits of Texas business owners in their establishments (Luling, San marcos, Houston, Killeen, etc).
  • Decisive moments.
  • Black vs White.
  • Shadows.
  • Screen shots.
  • A monochromatic scale of photographs.
  • Luling, TX.
  • Technical Spaghetti.

"I need a drink"

Hurricane Ike hit my hometown of Seabrook, Texas and devastated a good portion of the city. The fish market took the brunt of it and this soda machine from Captain Wick's Seafood Market is proof. The storm relocated the machine about 15 feet behind the building.
